NORTHERN Rivers products Phoenix-Raine Hippi and Josh Patston have signed fulltime contracts in the National Rugby League after breakout seasons with the Gold Coast Titans in 2025.
Both will be at the club for at least the next two years, with Patston also picking up Rookie of the Year honours this year.
Hippi, who grew up in Ballina, has represented Queensland at under-19 level and played the second half of the NRL Women’s season on the wing for the Titans.
She scored nine tries in her seven appearances, including three doubles.
“Phe’s had an incredible start to her career and has shown real composure in key moments this season,” Titans NRLW coach Karen Murphy said.
“What’s more exciting is she’s only just beginning her career, but we know she has the ability and attitude to become one of the competition’s best outside backs.
“She has such a natural footy instinct but what I love most is her work ethic.
“She wants to learn, has such a desire to continually improve as a player and is extremely passionate about representing her culture, community and the Titans.”

“Having Phe locked in for another two years is a huge boost for our squad and reinforces our commitment to developing local talent in our pathways to help build long-term success.”
It has been a whirlwind few years for Patston with the 26-year-old still playing for Marist Brothers at Lismore in 2023.
He played for a handful of Queensland Cups sides and was part of preseasons with the Brisbane Broncos and Melbourne Storm before his NRL debut at the Titans this year.
He played eight NRL games, having impressed coaches during his time on the field.
“This year was everything I could ever ask for, getting the chance to make my debut, and I’ve learnt so much in my first full season in a NRL system,” Patston said.
“I’m now super excited for the next two years, having my future locked in here with the Titans.”
Patston also made club history as part of the first brother-sister combination at the Titans with his sister Lily playing in the NRLW.
She played fullback and wing before sustaining season-ending ankle and leg injuries.
