Clean out your household chemicals for free this summer
NORTHERN Rivers residents can safely dispose of household chemicals for free at two Chemical Cleanout events this December.
On Saturday, December 7, the event will be held at the Nammoona Waste Facility, Casino, and on Sunday, December 8, at the Lismore Recycling and Recovery Centre, East Lismore. Both events run from 9am to 3pm.
The program allows households to safely dispose of items such as pool, garden, and hobby chemicals, household cleaners, paints (up to 100L in 20L containers), batteries (up to 10kg), and other hazardous materials (up to 20L or 20kg per waste type).
It’s a great opportunity to declutter and reduce the risks posed by hazardous chemicals, particularly in emergencies like floods or fires.
