FUNNY woman and quiz master Ellen Briggs will MC a trivia night fundraiser in aid of refugee resettlement support on Saturday, November 16

It will be presented by Northern Rivers for Refugees (NRFR), the small local charity coordinated by volunteers that helps refugee families settle in the region.

The non-profit organisation raises funds and engages in community education and outreach on the importance of caring for people seeking asylum from war, famine and persecution.

Since August 2022, NRFR has resettled five refugee families from Syria and Venezuela in the area under the Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP).

The Makansi family will attend as special guests and will speak about their experiences with NRFR, helping them settle in Ocean Shores.

The night promises side-splitting hilarity for a serious cause in an evening of fun and facts. Table bookings are available for groups and individuals and couples can join group tables and meet other residents battling it out for a cause.

Kudos and prizes are also on offer.

All funds from ticket sales, raffle tickets and donations on the night will go towards supporting a refugee family resettling in northern NSW.

Tea and cake will be available for sale, and attendees are welcome to BYO drinks and snacks.

The event kicks off at 6.30pm at St Johns School Hall, Mullumbimby.
