A POPULAR event for car lovers and racing fans has re-established itself as a major player in the region after the success of the 2025 North Coast Show N Shine swap meet.
The event at Ballina Jockey Club featured 750 cars and brought more than 10,000 people through the gates.
It has only been back running for a few years and looks set to grow in popularity after attracting people from across the state.
This year, there were 20 categories for classic cars, utes, motorcycles, and four-wheel drives.
The event is the brainchild of Martin and Michelle Bailey, who wanted to bring it back to its glory days after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“For years, this celebration of automotive passion had been absent from our town, and we felt it was time to bring it back,” Ms Bailey said.
“With the camaraderie of fellow car enthusiasts and the backing of the Lennox Head Machinery Club, we’ve created an event that not only showcases stunning vehicles but also fosters community spirit.”

Martin and Michelle have been supported by a dedicated of volunteers and vintage car lovers from around the region.
Ms Bailey said there was a demand for the event after several local car groups had the chance to work on restoration projects in 2020 and 2021.
She is also president of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service support group for the region which has benefited from the return of the event.
Her association with the group started year ago after Martin was injured in an accident.
“The experience opened my eyes to the vital role that community support plays in recovery and resilience,” she said.
There were trophies and award winners across most categories with a focus on introducing children to classic cars.
