COURTNEY Adamo and her husband Michael opened the doors of their Bangalow home last week to celebrate the launch of their new book, The Family Home.
Adamo — a mother of five, blogger and influencer with more than 260,000 Instagram followers — said the event was an intimate gathering of friends, designed to help them celebrate the release of the book and provide an opportunity to discuss the book’s themes.
“Michael and I were so moved to see so many familiar faces standing in our backyard as we chatted about the book,” she said.

“It was such a beautiful, sunny day, which made it extra nice to gather in our garden and celebrate this new book of ours launching into the world.
“It felt especially fitting to host a party for the launch of The Family Home in our own family home. I made muffins and we served mimosas, our kids were there to help, and we felt so grateful to have so much support and to hear such kind feedback about the book.”
Originally from the US, the couple have lived in homes in Nevada, Washington State and London. They wrote The Family Home as a reflection of everything they’ve learned about cultivating a joyful and meaningful home life.

The book features photographs of 24 homes from around the world, captured by their friend Amelia Rushforth. Featured residences include a converted shed in Federal in the Byron Bay hinterland, a mid-century home in London and a restored 1890s house in Los Angeles.
“This book was so easy to write,” Adamo said at the launch. “We just sat down and it just flowed, which isn’t always the case. It was so fun to write with Michael as we just bounced ideas off each other.”
The couple will also host a Q&A and book signing at The Book Room in Byron Bay on Thursday September 18 at 6pm. Registrations are available via Eventbrite.
