ROOTS rock legend Dallas Frasca has announced a new solo album tour, which she will bring to Brunswick Heads on October 17.

Her new solo album Force of Nature represents a new era for the electrifying performer who told this masthead that the evolution was like stepping into a new skin – raw and unapologetically herself.

“This solo chapter feels like shedding layers, revealing parts of myself that were tucked away,” Frasca said.

“It’s about being fiercely independent. It’s about liberation, owning every part of myself, and singing without a filter.”

Described by media outlets as ‘the most powerful female voice in Australian rock’ and ‘one of the best frontwomen in the business’, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash is a fan.

Touring without a band is a vulnerable new space for the artist that she likens as akin to being on a tightrope without a safety net.

“There’s nowhere to hide, and every moment is pure, unfiltered energy. There’s so much power in vulnerability,” she said.

“It’s intense, but I love that kind of intensity, where it’s just me, the music, and the audience, no walls, I feel my most alive.”

Frasca describes the new project as her greatest career achievement.

“It’s 100 per cent me and the culmination of everything I’ve been through. It’s honest, messy, and present, and I’ve poured every bit of myself into it.

“It feels like the truest reflection of who I am right now, and that’s something I’ve never been prouder of.”

The Byron Shire has a magnetic pull for Frasca. She is no stranger, having lived in Lennox Head for a few years.

She describes touring as a wild, chaotic romance that she keeps falling back into.

“The whole area has this electric energy. I have core lifetime memories from some shows I’ve played in the past,” she said. “And playing in those intimate, funky spaces is where the real magic happens. A small theatre brings people closer and makes everything more personal. I can’t wait to jump into that energy.”
