LENNOX Pizza Bar and Kitchen is hosting a New Year’s Eve fundraiser to support the local Heart of Dance school compete on the world stage in 2026.
Heart of Dance won the World Dance Masters Line Dancing Championship in the United Kingdom last year.
It has spent 18 months fundraising to send a group over to the event again next year.
“Nathan and Nicci Meredith run Lennox pizza, and their daughter (Sayla) is involved with the team,” dance coach Kerren Kernaghan.
“We’ve asked each family to hold a fundraiser, and they’ve very generously put this one on for New Year’s Eve.
“The dance team have put a lot of work in; they train hard and we always give back and support the community when we run an event.”
One of its previous fundraisers at the Lennox Head bowling club raised $4000 and they have also hosted trivia nights and other events where they showcase some of their routine, while teaching others.

“Being able to travel to the UK last year to dance and compete was life changing,” Kernaghan said.
“Most of our dancers had never been overseas before.
“It’s not just about winning; it’s quality time for families and for our school community.”
Jessie Kernaghan choreographs the dances, with the team preparing to compete against more than 1500 dancers from 25 countries when they return to the UK midway through 2026.
Most of the group do additional training with Heart of Dance providing specialist guest coaches from Melbourne and Sydney.
The New Year’s Eve fundraiser will be supported by local teenage singer Lily Grace Grant who will perform on the night.
It will be a country-themed night with dancing, games and giveaways.
