A SUBLIME performance is in store this Father’s Day when the Northern Rivers Symphony Orchestra Chamber Ensemble presents its latest program, Enchanting Ensemble, at Tweed Heads Civic Centre.
The concert on Sunday, September 7 at 2.30pm will feature pianist Ayesha Gough, violinists Hugh Won and Alison Fletcher, violist Nigel Bardsley and cellist Katherine Hopkins.
Together they will perform works by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Brahms in an afternoon of world-class chamber music.
Oboist Nicholas Donnelly, a local musician with an extensive international career, will join the ensemble for Mozart’s Oboe Quartet KV370, giving audiences a rare insight into the expressive power of the instrument through this virtuosic work.
The program continues with Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No.2 in C minor, considered one of the most celebrated piano trios of all time, before closing with Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F minor Op.34, a composition renowned for its passion and intensity.
For families, the timing is perfect. Organisers say it’s an ideal way to treat dads who love music — and children can come along for free when accompanied by a parent.
“Don’t delay — the last concert sold out,” a spokesperson said.
Tickets are available now at nrso.com.au.
