Family day out to help raise funds for sick children from around the region
FAMILIES across the Northern Rivers are being invited to enjoy a day of free entertainment while helping raise vital funds for sick and injured children at this year’s Our Kids Day Out in Ballina.
The event will be held at the Missingham Bridge Amphitheatre on Sunday, 3 May.
It will offer a packed program of activities designed especially for children, particularly those who have spent time in the children’s ward and special care nursery.
The popular family event will feature live shows, food stalls and appearances from local emergency services, giving children the chance to meet first responders in a fun and relaxed setting.
Our Kids fundraising coordinator Rebekka Battista said the day was about bringing the community together while raising much-needed funds for medical equipment.
“It will be a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy free entertainment and connect with local services,” she said.
“So, bring your family, pack a picnic blanket, and enjoy a day full of fun.”
Headlining the entertainment is SpongeBob SquarePants, who will take to the stage at 10am and again at 12pm, promising high-energy performances, dancing and a few surprise guests.
The Wildlife Twins will also entertain crowds while sharing educational insights about animals.
The day will begin with a community breakfast hosted by the Ballina Lions Club, with barbecues firing from early morning.
All funds raised will go towards purchasing paediatric equipment for children across the Northern Rivers, helping ensure young patients can receive care closer to home.
The event is presented by Clarence Property who has coming on board as the naming rights sponsor.
