Food trucks, live bands, and carnival rides will take over Ballina and Lismore this weekend as the Summer Fairs return, bringing family fun and festival vibes to the Northern Rivers.

The popular events, run by Aussie Night Markets, will feature an exciting mix of international food, artisan markets, live music, and games for all ages.

Ballina will host its two-night fair at Missingham Park on January 10 and 11, while Lismore will come alive at the Showground on January 12.

June Kilo from Aussie Night Markets said the family-run business has been creating memorable market experiences for eight years.

“When we first started, there were no night markets in NSW.

“We started doing local markets and then started to get interest asking us to bring the markets to other towns,”

In addition to visiting regional towns, the team holds monthly night markets in Sydney.

At the Lismore and Ballina events, food trucks will offer dishes like Korean BBQ, Mexican food, fairy floss, and waffle donuts.

Ms Kilo said the response from vendors wanting to join has been overwhelming.

The Ballina Summer Fair will run from 4pm to 10pm on both nights, with free entry for all attendees.

Lismore’s Summer Fair will take place from 4pm to 10pm on January 12 at the Showground. Entry costs $2, and parking will be available onsite.

Both events are weather-dependent, with updates available on the Aussie Night Markets Facebook page in case of postponements.
