PEARCES Creek Hall will host an award-winning country-folk act this weekend, with Wicker Suite bringing their national tour to the local community venue.

The Sunday afternoon performance forms part of the duo’s The Way That It Was tour, which is deliberately focused on regional halls and small community spaces across northern NSW and Queensland.

Wicker Suite is made up of Australian fiddler Gabi Louise and New Zealand multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Liam Kennedy-Clark.

The pair recently won Instrumental of the Year at the Country Music Association of Australia Golden Guitar Awards for their composition Lyrebird, marking their third Golden Guitar win.

Before forming the duo, both musicians built extensive careers as session players, performing and recording with a range of Australian country artists including Keith Urban and Lee Kernaghan.

Their decision to tour community halls reflects a broader effort to reconnect live music with regional audiences, drawing inspiration from traditional country hall circuits.

The Pearces Creek Hall performance sits among a run of shows staged in similar venues, including halls in Mount Nimmel, Coramba and Towamba.

Organisers say the hall-based format allows audiences to experience live music in an intimate setting while supporting local community spaces.

The Pearces Creek Hall show is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
