Premier ag show puts focus on youth

PRIMEX and Norco will celebrate a decade-long partnership at the region’s premier agricultural field days in May, and for the first time, there is an event specifically aimed at young people wanting a career in agriculture.

Primex Field Days attract 300 exhibitors, 1000 different companies and more than 25,000 visitors across three days, and in 2025, it will hold its 41st event, coinciding with Norco’s 130th anniversary.

Primex has evolved to reflect the changing agricultural landscape. In recent years, it’s highlighted regenerative agricultural practices and environmental science, and introduced Nourish Food & Drink, showcasing the region’s locally produced foods and products, creating the connection between farmers and foodies.

In 2025, Primex will launch the North Coast Young Aggies Group, to support young people as they pursue a career in agriculture.

The group aims to connect young people with key stakeholders in the industry and create a community-based platform that acts as a central resource for all agricultural-related information, such as jobs, education, upskilling, social events, and business connections.

“Our goal is to build an influential group that can provide perspective and leadership towards a new generation of innovation and to shape the future of our region’s primary production,” a Primex spokesperson said.

Norco’s general manager of AgriSolutions, Luke Couch said the agricultural field days were important in helping support and connect local farmers, and showcasing their services and produce.

“Primex has become the highlight of the year for us and our customers alike. It’s where we come together to celebrate innovation, share knowledge and forge deeper connections with those we serve,” Couch said.

The upcoming Primex Field Days, scheduled for May 15-17, 2025 will feature exclusive insights from Norco AgriSolutions expert team, product demonstrations, and special opportunities for attendees to engage with the latest Norco offerings.
