Record number of finalists nominated for business awards

A RECORD number of finalists have been announced in what is shaping as one of the biggest community events of the year at the 2025 Ballina Shire Business Awards.
The Ballina Chamber of Commerce runs the event and has named 74 finalists across 21 different categories.
Tickets for the gala dinner and awards presentation are now on sale with the event to be held at Ballina RSL Club on Saturday, August 2.
Aged care facilities, banks, clubs, disability support groups, healthcare providers, salons and pubs have all been nominated for awards.
The major awards include Business of the Year, Excellence in Large Business Award and Excellence in Business and Professional Services.
There are also awards for community organisation, hospitality, retail and visitor experience.
“Interest in this year’s business awards has been unprecedented resulting in a record number of finalists across 21 categories,” Ballina Chamber of Commerce executive officer Jon Dickson said.
“It’s a big event now and a great opportunity for so many of our businesses to get some recognition.”
The awards are designed to reward excellence in business, foster innovation, and encourage a focus on sustainability.
It aims to highlight the hard work of staff and owners from a range of businesses over the past 12 months.
The award categories represent the diversity throughout the region with support from Business NSW.
