MULTICULTURAL NSW’s Stronger Together Grants Program is open to support multicultural and multifaith community groups to host grassroots events scheduled to run between March 1 and July 31, 2025.

The $500,000 funding is in addition to the recent $500,000 invested in almost 80 cultural events and festivals throughout 2024.

Hundreds of not-for-profit organisations use the Festival and Event grants to celebrate cultural heritage and share food, music and entertainment with the community every year.

Multicultural NSW administers the grants on behalf of the NSW Government, and eligible organisations can apply for grants of between $5000 and $20,000 for festivities that celebrate and embrace the state’s cultural diversity.

Lismore MP Janelle Saffin is encouraging community groups in the electorate to apply for a share of the funds to foster community harmony and celebrate cultural diversity in 2024/25.

“This is an opportunity for grassroots not-for-profit organisations to secure a Festival and Event grant to enhance an existing festival or launch a new community celebration,” she said.

“Exploring different cultures, sharing international cuisine, world music and entertainment is the ideal way to bring people together. It makes for more vibrant and harmonious communities.”

NSW Minister for Multiculturalism Steve Kamper said the events showcased NSW communities’ vibrancy and richness.

“These celebrations are for all to share and appreciate, but they are also integral to the success of our state,” he said. “Cultural diversity is a precious part of our identity and way of life in NSW and something we should not take for granted.”

Grant applications close at 5pm on Friday, October 11. For more information, visit multicultural.nsw.gov.au/stronger-together-events- festivals
