Summer’s sweet nights
FROM the early 2000s hit In the Summertime through to The Good Life, Australian band Thirsty Merc have been soundtracking summer for more than two decades.
As the warmer weather rolls in, the trio are heading back on the road with their Summer Live ’25 Tour, bringing a catalogue of crowd favourites with them.
Across 32 dates, Thirsty Merc will treat audiences to classic hits including 20 Good Reasons, Mousetrap Heart, Tommy and Krista, alongside newer material.
Formed in 2002, the band recorded their debut album a year later and went on to earn five ARIA nominations, an APRA Song of the Year nomination and a reputation as a relentless live act throughout the noughties.
More recently, the trio marked their 20-year milestone with a run of sold-out shows, delivering the high-energy performances and sing-alongs fans have come to expect.
Made up of Rai Thistlethwayte, Phil Stack and Matt Smith, Thirsty Merc remain best known for In the Summertime, a track that continues to enjoy enduring popularity on Australian radio and playlists.
That same upbeat, feel-good energy is set to carry through their latest summer run.
Thirsty Merc will perform at the Ballina RSL Club on Sunday, December 28.
