Support Tweed family in life- changing battle
LOCAL dad Jason Ingram needs the support of the Tweed community to get through one of the most challenging times a family can face.
The Ingram family is hosting a fundraising event at the Condong Bowling Club on Sunday, September 8 to help with the ongoing costs of care and treatment for Jason’s stage four cancer condition.
The former full-time parcel deliverer in Murwillumbah worked locally for years until just six months ago.
In the past few years, the father of a young son has undergone several surgeries and intensive chemotherapy, and further bowel and liver surgery is imminent.
Adding insult to injury is the family’s tenuous living situation – they are overwhelmed with medical and travel costs and are also facing loss of income.
The Ingrams are trying to find accommodation to ensure security and stability as Jason battles the disease and manages the difficult treatment.
The community and many local businesses have stepped up for the Ingrams, and the day of family fun promises to be a great day out.
The afternoon promises a raft of family fun including live music, lawn bowls, a sausage sizzle, a cake stall, raffles and children’s activities.
Funds raised will support Jason’s recovery from surgery and his ongoing care.
The fundraiser will start at 1pm.
