Swing and Swoon returns to hastings point
THE Caldera Chamber Ensemble is bringing its much-loved Swing and Swoon concert to a picturesque private garden at Hastings Point.
Under the charismatic baton of conductor Barry Singh, the concert promises an afternoon of music from the 1930s and ’40s in a stunning setting by the sea.
“Flappers, get your tassel dresses ready,” Mr Singh said.
“The garden is not spacious, so early bookings will ensure that you get a place to set up your chairs.
“Don’t forget to bring picnic baskets and tables and some nice wine to share with the conductor.”
For those who can do the Charleston, there will be a chance to showcase your moves at the end of the program. Tassel dresses are optional, but enthusiasm is mandatory.
The program includes a Glenn Miller medley (Chattanooga Choo Choo, In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade), La Vie en Rose, Je Ne Regrette Rien, Puttin’ on the Ritz, I’ve Got Rhythm, and The Charleston.
The concert will take place this Sunday, November 24, at 39 Tweed Coast Road, Hastings Point.
Gates open at 2pm (NSW time), and the performance begins at 3pm.
Tickets are $50 for adults, $40 for concessions, $10 for students under 18, and $20 for students 18 and over.
Tickets can be purchased at the Murwillumbah Music Store, at the gate (cash only) or via trybooking.com/1307013
