FAMILIES can take part in thong-throwing contests, play barefoot bowls and enjoy a free sausage sandwich at an Australia Day event at Lismore City Bowling Club on Sunday January 26.

The Cath Simes Band, which plays songs from the 1960s onwards, and comedians The Lollipop Ladies from Roundabout Theatre will entertain the crowd.

Rotary Club of Lismore Networking spokesperson Kerry Leitch said it was the third year the event was being held at the Club and she loves seeing the community come together for it.
