Tourism awards open for entries

NOMINATIONS have opened for the North Coast Regional Tourism Awards, which will be announced at a gala ceremony on July 31.

Winners of the awards, which are presented by Destination North Coast and the NSW Tourism Association, will go in the running for the NSW Tourism Awards.

The Awards feature 18 categories, including cultural tourism, ecotourism, festivals and events, tour and transport operators, adventure tourism and accessible tourism.

Awards are also presented for various types of accommodation, such as caravan and holiday parks, self-contained accommodation and five-star luxury accommodation.

Entrants are required to meet recognised quality standards, either through Sustainable Tourism accreditation or by completing Quality Tourism Business Standards, to ensure that every finalist has undergone a rigorous assessment, evaluating all facets of their operation.

Weekly entrant support webinars will be held every Tuesday from March 18.

Nominations close on April 11.

Submissions open on March 26 and close on May 11.

The finalists will be announced on June 10.
