NORTH Coast Local Land Services is hosting a series of three workshops for landowners and land managers to understand their land better, improve its ecological condition, and increase its productive potential.
The workshop series at the Agricultural Research Station in Wollongbar has been designed to build practical skills for managing and enhancing a property’s natural assets.
The workshops aim to equip land managers with the skills to measure and track the condition of vegetation, water bodies, and broader landscape health for future planning, as well as to access clear, up-to-date information on emerging environmental markets, enabling them to make informed decisions.
They will also provide access to mapping tools and data sets to stay ahead of new nature-related opportunities.
North Coast Local Land Services natural capital advisor, Vince Parisi, said that healthy landscapes underpins sustainable farming.
“These workshops will give land managers the confidence to read their land and make informed management decisions,” Parisi said.
“The final workshop focuses on reading your land in detail, with activities and a site visit to help participants assess the condition of natural assets on their own farm.”
The three-part workshop series, scheduled for October 21, November 5, and November 12, is almost fully subscribed.
“We are keen to encourage people to get in contact and sign up even as we fill up, as we will run a second series if we have enough people on the wait list,” Parisi said.
