Workshops to explore a regenerative future
COMMUNITY members will explore ideas for a regenerative future at Imagine Northern Rivers workshops in Ballina, Alstonville and Lennox Head next month. More than 180 people have already taken part in seven workshops across the region, sharing ideas on how to create a more sustainable and connected future.
Organiser Carmen Stewart said the sessions had been embraced by a broad mix of people.
“A regenerative future is not going to be easy, but it’s inevitable, as we have no choice but to regenerate environmentally, socially and culturally,” she said.

Recent attendee Simon Jankelson said the experience offered a valuable chance to reflect and connect.
“The workshop was delightful because it offered the opportunity to imagine a future I want to live in and to do that with a whole bunch of people,” he said.
“It didn’t feel like it dragged on – it was action-packed and more fun than the average workshop. It was also a good opportunity to meet other people in the area and hear their views.”

Jankelson, now partnership manager with Seed Northern Rivers, said the workshops left participants with a sense of hope.
The workshops will run in Ballina on August 1, Alstonville on August 7 and Lennox Head on August 8.
