Barefoot bowlers set to roll out vital funds at Our Kids charity event

CLUB Tweed is set to host a barefoot bowls fundraiser to help raise funds for sick children and paediatric support services in the region.
It will be community focused event run by Tweed Community Clubs on Thursday, 23 April.
The Our Kids charity group will be the beneficiary group in support of its ongoing efforts across the Northern Rivers.
There will be teams of four competing with the aim is to attract businesses and social groups.
Founded in 2001 by Dr Chris Ingall in Lismore, Our Kids has helped hundreds of children across the region and purchased more than $2.8 million worth of paediatric equipment for local hospitals.

Our Kids fundraising coordinator Rebekka Battista said the event was an opportunity for the community to come together while making a tangible difference.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to gather, have some fun and raise funds to help keep our kids local when needing medical care,” she said.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the Tweed Valley Hospital.
It will help purchase essential equipment across key areas including the emergency department, women’s care, special care nursery and children’s ward.
Teams of four can enter the event for $100 with live music from Angus Holmes and Curt Luxton, as well as family-friendly entertainment including face painting from 12.30pm.
Club Tweed is one of the premier bowling greens in the region and host several community focused events throughout the year.
It is currently building towards its annual Golden Nugget competition which attracts some of the best bowlers from around the country.
