Work includes additional inclusive play and nature play equipment for children aged five years and over, a new barbecue, picnic tables and shelter, a new public toilet, linking pathways, and landscaping.<\/p>\n<p>Cr Cherry said the revitalised park was one of a suite of recently upgraded parks across the shire under the Other Open Space Strategy (2019\u20132029).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Community feedback highlighted the desire for enhanced park facilities,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2024\/08\/RayPascoeParkwebres__24205.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Children enjoying the fresh, fun-filled play area at the rejuvenated Ray Pascoe Park. Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ray Pascoe Park is such a beautiful spot to enjoy a picnic and time with family and friends beside the river, and we are thrilled to deliver these enhanced facilities for the community and many visitors who enjoy it here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The NSW Government&#8217;s Regional Housing Fund and Tweed Shire Council each provided $400,000 towards the project.<\/p>\n<p>NSW Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said the upgraded park would benefit generations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The upgrade provides the Tweed Shire with a high-quality public open space that the whole community can enjoy,&#8221; Minister Scully said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our government understands that enhancing recreational facilities is crucial for a growing region. Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Boaties also benefited from upgraded lighting at the boat ramp, a new fish-cleaning station, and soon-to-be-completed minor shoreline protection efforts under the Council&#8217;s Coast and Waterways Program.<\/p>\n<p>Cr Cherry also launched the revamped Livvi&#8217;s Place at Goorimahbah &#8211; Place of Stories at Jack Evans Boat Harbour, officially opening new facilities, improved water access and recreational opportunities.
