{"id":101341,"date":"2024-09-02T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-01T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/?p=101341"},"modified":"2024-08-29T09:21:03","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T23:21:03","slug":"mullumbimby-fire-station-marks-100-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/news\/mullumbimby-fire-station-marks-100-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Mullumbimby fire station marks 100 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CELEBRATIONS have been in full swing for the centenary of Mullumbimby Fire Station House 388, with a wide range of activities honouring its 100 years of operation.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the schedule, the brigade re-enacted the first drill for the fire commissioner and the mayor from 100 years ago, albeit with the modern touch of a hydrant and breathing apparatus.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_102140\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-102140\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-102140 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2024\/09\/MullumFireBrigade_Fu_57216-1-1024x386.jpg?_t=1724887054\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"241\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-102140\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">100 years of service for Mullumbimby Fire Station 388.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A group of serving fire crew, together with captain Josh Rushton in an early 20th-century uniform, walked around town and visited most of the businesses in Mullumbimby to thank them for their support over 100 years and the community&#8217;s backing in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Shops were decorated and the streets were full of red in honour of the brigade.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2024\/09\/Mullum388b_25275.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"452\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Locals and businesses were right behind the 100 year milestone.
