LOCAL residents looking to help community-led solutions to climate change and act for sustainable living can find options with the Tweed Community Action Network’s (TCAN) upcoming workshop tomorrow, Saturday, October 19.<\/p>\n

Tweed Shire Council hosts the free event as part of its commitment to supporting individuals and community groups in reducing our environmental impact and responding to climate change for a sustainable future.<\/p>\n

With a focus on place-based solutions, and providing resources and education, the council aims for the forums to empower the community to take action and progress projects.<\/p>\n

In the leadup to the Climate Summit on Wednesday, November 20, the workshop is an opportunity to plan energy efficiency and sustainable food and transport projects or contribute new initiatives.<\/p>\n

The summit will feature a panel of speakers and will provide the opportunity to vote for, add and contribute to community-led projects to reduce emissions.<\/p>\n

The workshop will be held at the Murwillumbah Community Centre in Knox Park from 10.30am to 1pm.<\/p>\n

Previous participants will share their progress on action plans, and new attendees can provide feedback and ideas. Registrations are essential and a light lunch will be provided.
