TWEED Shire Council has received a $60,000 NSW Government grant to support its agribusiness environmental education initiatives.<\/p>\n

The Cultivating Tomorrow: Empowering Tweed Shire Farmers through Regenerative Agribusiness Mastery is funded by the latest round of the NSW Environmental Trust’s Environmental Education Grants Program worth $980,538 between seven projects around the state.<\/p>\n

Farmers with advanced agribusiness skills will benefit from the shift towards adopting regenerative agricultural practices and be empowered to expand their initiatives.<\/p>\n

Member for Lismore, Janelle Saffin, said the project would benefit the Tweed region.<\/p>\n

“This project is to overcome barriers to sustainable farming practices, and I look forward to the results of this fantastic local project,” she said.<\/p>\n

“These environmental education projects play an important role in transforming community knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n

“Inspiring more members of our community to become environmental stewards will result in improved local environments that can be appreciated and enjoyed well into the future.<\/p>\n

Tweed Shire Council offers specialised short courses, workshops, and coaching sessions and supports farmer-led projects to overcome barriers to implementing sustainable methods.<\/p>\n
