CROWN land reserve managers can now apply for a slice of the NSW Government’s $10-million Crown Reserves Improvement Fund (CRIF).<\/p>\n

Lismore MP Janelle Saffin is encouraging local Crown land reserve managers across the Lismore electorate to apply for the 2024-25 fund, which provides grants to maintain and upgrade public reserves, including community, recreational, and tourism facilities.<\/p>\n

“These CRIF grants can also be used to manage feral pests and noxious weeds on reserves to keep them in good condition,” Saffin said.<\/p>\n

The NSW Government sets aside public land to protect sensitive environmental areas and for community use. Crown reserves provide recreational areas and infrastructure, such as sports fields, parks, walking tracks, and campgrounds.<\/p>\n

The reserves are also used by community organisations and facilities, including public halls, showgrounds, scout halls, and racecourses.<\/p>\n

NSW Minister for Lands and Property Steve Kamper said this program is focused on delivering much-needed upgrades to communities.<\/p>\n

“The Minns Labor Government is focused on building better communities, and the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund plays a vital role in maintaining and upgrading public reserves for the use and benefit of local communities across our state,” Kamper said.<\/p>\n

“We are very grateful to the dedicated volunteers, community groups and local councils who help manage reserves and will be looking to assist them through this year’s CRIF grants.”<\/p>\n

Janelle Saffin urged eligible bodies to submit an application.<\/p>\n

“Grant applications are open to Crown land reserve managers, including local councils, community groups and showgrounds on Crown land, so I strongly encourage eligible local organisations to apply,” Saffin said.<\/p>\n
