In a final feature event for the Together We Celebrate: Tweed All Abilities Events series, an inclusive art exhibition will showcase the all-abilities artistic talents of the region.<\/p>\n

Art Without Limits opened yesterday at M|Arts Precinct, Murwillumbah, and will run for a week until Wednesday, December 18.<\/p>\n

A collaboration between Social Futures and the Tweed IDPwD Working Group, supported by Tweed Shire Council, the exhibit features artworks created by artists with lived experience of disability, neurodivergence and d\/Deaf.<\/p>\n

The exhibit features work by award-winning artist and TAFE NSW head teacher Sandra Guy, an accomplished artist with many exhibitions on her CV and is represented by New York’s Agora Gallery. “I’d like to highlight Visual Art as a career opportunity for those with neurodiversity and to demonstrate that people with a disability can become accomplished practitioners,” Guy said.<\/p>\n

Social Futures senior manager for capacity building and engagement Lynda Hope said the exhibition was a visual feast for art enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

‘It expresses a broad spectrum of identities and experiences, from well-known individuals to school groups.<\/p>\n

“It is a vibrant exhibition showcasing a range of talents and a wonderful opportunity for emerging and experienced artists to come together, connect and learn from each other.”<\/p>\n

Special Education teacher at Tweed River High School Anthony Kypreos leads Imagination Unleashed, a creative arts program that empowers students to express themselves through art.<\/p>\n

“During their art lessons and free time at the school, students explore their creativity in a safe and supportive space, choosing subjects and styles that speak to them personally.”<\/p>\n

Riley Treloar created the event’s poster art, and the exhibition includes his family-inspired series It Takes a Village.<\/p>\n

A sensory hour will be designated on Tuesday, December 17, between 10 am and 11 am, and sensory adjustment requests will be accepted during all other visiting hours.<\/p>\n

Art Without Limits is on display from 10am to 3pm each day except Sunday and on Friday from 10 am to 7 pm. M|Arts is an accessible venue, and admission is free.
