Larsen played 15 Test matches and 49 one-day internationals for Australia. She captained Australia to World Cup glory in 1988 at the MCG. She also played in front of 30,000 people on tours of India.<\/p>\n
She was instrumental off the field through her work with the International Women’s Cricket Council, which helped lead to its integration with the International Cricket Council\u2014a move that has greatly benefited today’s players.<\/p>\n
Larsen was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1999 and the NSW Cricket Hall of Fame in 2010.<\/p>\n
In 2020, she was honoured with the Order of Australia (AM) for her significant services to cricket as a player, selector, manager, and coach.<\/p>\n
Lismore mayor Steve Krieg said her sporting achievements deserve recognition for their lasting impact on the sport.<\/p>\n
