{"id":104263,"date":"2025-01-16T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/?p=104263"},"modified":"2025-01-16T09:59:51","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T22:59:51","slug":"nominations-open-for-seniors-achievement-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/news\/nominations-open-for-seniors-achievement-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Nominations open for Seniors Achievement Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MEMBER for Lismore Janelle Saffin is encouraging residents of the Lismore electorate to celebrate seniors&#8217; positive role in the community.<\/p>\n<p>Nominating a senior community member for the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards is an element of that celebration that Saffin believes in.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you know a senior who helps make our community diverse, inspiring and active, then nominate them for acknowledgement of their contribution,&#8221; Saffin said.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the continued efforts of community elders in helping the Lismore electorate thrive, Saffin said the community continued to challenge ageism and empower seniors to overcome social stigmas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nominations are now open for the awards program, one of many initiatives the NSW Government promotes to support the state&#8217;s seniors living happy, healthy, and active lives,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>The Local Achievement Awards winners will be announced during the NSW Seniors Festival, which runs from March 3 \u2013 16.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The annual NSW Seniors Festival is about celebrating the positive impact of older<\/p>\n<p>people in our families and society,&#8221; Saffin said.<\/p>\n<p>Nominations close at 5 pm on Friday, February 21.
