{"id":104376,"date":"2025-01-21T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-20T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/?p=104376"},"modified":"2025-01-24T11:45:18","modified_gmt":"2025-01-24T00:45:18","slug":"chance-to-rub-shoulders-with-cricket-legends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/sport\/chance-to-rub-shoulders-with-cricket-legends\/","title":{"rendered":"Chance to rub shoulders with cricket legends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A SPECIAL breakfast with some iconic sport stars is being held to accompany the Legends of Cricket Twenty20 match at Lismore.<\/p>\n<p>The Legends of Cricket Sportsperson Breakfast will be held at the new Adam Gilchrist Pavilion on Saturday, February 15.<\/p>\n<p>Lismore mayor Steve Krieg said it is a great chance for the community to be part of a special event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve got some of the greats of the game joining this celebration,&#8221; Cr Krieg.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ll be opening the new Adam Gilchrist Pavilion which is a really special honor for one of our most loved cherished residents.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It is a fully catered breakfast by Kaine from The Secret Chef with a special guest appearance by some of the former Australian cricketers who are playing in the charity match at Oakes Oval.<\/p>\n<p>Entertainment will be provided by local musician Lonnie Pasco with the event sponsored by Alder Construction.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a Legends of Cricket Golf Day on Friday, February 14 as part of the event this year.<\/p>\n<p>It will be held at the Lismore Workers Golf Club with businesses encouraged to join.<\/p>\n<p>The competition will be played in teams of three and runs from 12.30pm-5.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>It all culminates with Australian cricket legend Adam Gilchrist taking to the field for the T20 game against the mayors X1.<\/p>\n<p>The cricket match was first held in 2023 as a major flood fundraiser.<\/p>\n<p>Steve O&#8217;Keefe and a host of former state and national cricketers will take part in the game.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for all three events can be purchased at <a href=\"http:\/\/visitlismore.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visitlismore.com.au<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A SPECIAL breakfast with some iconic sport stars is being held to accompany the Legends of Cricket Twenty20 match at Lismore.
