BYRON Ballet is inviting dancers of all ages and skill levels to join its community classes and upcoming productions, including the highly anticipated Sleeping Beauty.<\/p>\n

Designed for passionate dance students and parents seeking age-appropriate instruction within a holistic environment, Byron Ballet’s community classes provide solid technical foundations and a fun, creative program in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz\/hip hop, and musical theatre.<\/p>\n

Director Yvonne Hall said the program is designed to encourage participation from all ages and abilities while maintaining strong technical foundations.<\/p>\n

“We provide solid technical foundations and a fun, creative program in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz\/hip hop, and musical theatre,” Ms Hall said.<\/p>\n

“Classes are available for all ages from preschoolers to adults; from beginners to advanced levels.<\/p>\n

“We encourage everyone in the community to get involved in dance as it has such wonderful benefits on many levels. Dance is a wonderful way to keep joy and movement in our lives.<\/p>\n

“Byron Ballet teachers are an inspirational and encouraging team of former professionals who work in a disciplined and nurturing way, cultivating the joyful essence of dance in everybody.<\/p>\n

“Our coaches can also prepare students for any performance event, eisteddfods, and for presentations or exams with the Royal Academy of Dance. Some students enjoy just dancing for fun and others have big dance goals \u2013 our dance program is geared to each individual.”<\/p>\n

Byron Ballet is performance oriented and promotes involvement in quality productions with the Byron Youth Ballet Company and other selected dance events.<\/p>\n

“Early this year the students will have the opportunity to be involved in our magical Sleeping Beauty production, which was rescheduled from late last year,” Ms Hall said.<\/p>\n

“We are currently looking for male dancers for a solo role, plus we are now casting the final junior chorus for girls and boys. We also have a few senior spots available.<\/p>\n

“Due to the global events of recent years there has been a great decrease in the amount of male professional dancers, so we are now offering a series of free introductory classes to any male students who are keen to start learning the art of classical ballet.<\/p>\n

“The production of Sleeping Beauty involves four professional male guests who will certainly inspire the young men of the shire.<\/p>\n

“Sadly, in recent years it has become much more difficult to locate available guests due to the dwindling pool of available male dancers.<\/p>\n

“We need to turn this around.”<\/p>\n
