WOMEN Up North Housing Inc. (WUNH) is running free sexual violence workforce training over the next few months across the Northern Rivers region.<\/p>\n

In partnership with Family Support Network, WUNH is offering a free, face-to-face program to enhance workforce responses to sexual violence against women.<\/p>\n

The training provides relevant insights and information for workers who support women who live in Northern NSW. It targets frontline workers in the broad community sector, including domestic violence, health, community agencies, non-government organisations and legal services. All genders are encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n

The training is not designed for workers and clinicians with high-level skills in sexual violence response.<\/p>\n

WUNH has been dedicated to addressing domestic, family, and sexual violence, homelessness, and housing challenges in the Northern Rivers for 30 years.<\/p>\n

It is a member of the Northern NSW Specialist Homelessness Services consortium and offers case management with personalised support, group work with facilitated sessions and innovative, tailored programs for specific needs.<\/p>\n

The organisation aims to empower and educate people to understand better the gendered nature of violence against women and children, its causes, drivers and impacts and provide current data on the prevalence and scope in Australia.<\/p>\n

Beginning in Grafton on February 18, the workforce training series will encompass dates in the Ballina, Byron, Tweed, Kyogle, Lismore and Clarence Valley local government areas through to June 24.<\/p>\n

Morning tea and lunch are provided at the all-day training sessions.<\/p>\n
