{"id":109855,"date":"2025-09-10T09:41:34","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T23:41:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/news\/afl-2025-membership-who-broke-records-and-who-didnt\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T09:41:34","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T23:41:34","slug":"afl-2025-membership-who-broke-records-and-who-didnt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/news\/afl-2025-membership-who-broke-records-and-who-didnt\/","title":{"rendered":"AFL 2025 membership: Who broke records and who didn\u2019t"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>AFL 2025 membership: Who broke records and who didn\u2019t<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>AFL club membership ladder<\/strong> has hit an all\u2011time high in 2025, with a staggering 1,363,437 Australians now signed up as club members \u2013 a 3.26 per cent increase on last year\u2019s record total.<\/p>\n<p>It means one in 20 Australians is now a member of an AFL club, underlining the game\u2019s massive national footprint and the unwavering loyalty of its fans.<\/p>\n<p>AFL CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afl.com.au\/news\/1382931\/new-all-time-afl-club-membership-record-set\">Andrew Dillon<\/a> said the achievement was a tribute to the fans\u2019 dedication and the tireless efforts of clubs in connecting with their communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have the greatest fans in the world, supporting the game week in and week out and backing their clubs by becoming members in record numbers,\u201d Dillon said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the AFL and the clubs, I thank all club members and the seven million plus fans who attended a game this season \u2013 the loyalty shown makes our game great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen clubs broke their own <a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/news\/cats-break-membership-record\/\">membership records<\/a>, including Collingwood, which notched the highest\u2011ever individual club tally of 112,491 members. West Coast (107,079) and Carlton (100,743) also surpassed the 100,000 mark.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 <strong>AFL club membership ladder<\/strong> shows Brisbane had the highest growth with an 18.7 per cent spike, while Port Adelaide, North Melbourne and Gold Coast all posted increases above 10 per cent. Six clubs welcomed more than 15,000 new members this year alone.<\/p>\n<p>It was also a big year for the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/sport\/geelong-celebrate-aflw-membership-milestone\/\">AFLW<\/a>, with a 15 per cent rise in memberships to 79,309 \u2013 and counting, as sales continue through the season.<\/p>\n<p>Memberships spanned generations, from centenarians to newborns, highlighting the code\u2019s deep cultural connection across all age groups.<\/p>\n<p>Fans also turned out in force, with 7.65 million attending matches in 2025 \u2013 the third time the AFL has broken the seven million mark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2025 AFL Club Membership Totals:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.
