FOUR new exhibitions exploring landscape, ritual, memory and inner worlds are now on show at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery in Ballina.<\/p>\n
The exhibitions form the opening program of the gallery\u2019s 2026 exhibition season and feature painting, photography and digital animation by local and interstate artists.<\/p>\n
The shows explore themes ranging from forests and coastal environments to magic, symbolism and abstract inner experience.<\/p>\n
Gallery coordinator Imbi Davidson said the program brings together established Australian artists alongside emerging regional talent.<\/p>\n
\u201cNRCG is excited to launch its 2026 exhibition program which will showcase leading Australian artists alongside emerging talent from across the region,\u201d Ms Davidson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur first series of exhibitions presents a great opportunity to engage with artworks that explore the realms of nature, magic, landscape and beyond,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Into the Forest by Karyn Fendley focuses on forested landscapes drawn from lakes, estuaries and coastal national parks in northern New South Wales.<\/p>\n
Temporal Collapse by Linsey Gosper uses analogue photography and darkroom processes to explore ritual, symbolism and inner experience.<\/p>\n
A Light Hold by multidisciplinary artist Eliza Adam responds to place through quiet observations of the natural landscape and histories embedded within it.<\/p>\n
Boundary Rider by Jacqueline and Dane Scotcher combines slow digital animation and abstract painting to explore internal terrains shaped by connection with the natural world.<\/p>\n
Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet exhibiting artists Jacqueline and Dane Scotcher at a free Meet the Artist session at the gallery.<\/p>\n
The informal event will be held at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery on Saturday, February 7, from 11am to 11.30am.<\/p>\n
The artists will lead a guided tour of Boundary Rider and share insights into their creative process and their experience collaborating as siblings.<\/p>\n
The exhibitions are on display at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery, 44 Cherry Street, Ballina, until March 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
