{"id":113465,"date":"2026-02-19T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T02:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/?p=113465"},"modified":"2026-02-18T20:07:41","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T09:07:41","slug":"car-show-shifts-gears-with-big-crowds-to-flock-to-north-coast-show-and-shine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/news\/car-show-shifts-gears-with-big-crowds-to-flock-to-north-coast-show-and-shine\/","title":{"rendered":"Car show shifts gears with big crowds to flock to North Coast Show and Shine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE North Coast Show and Shine is expected to bring 10,000 people through the gates, with the car club event enjoying significant growth and success in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>It will be held at Ballina Jockey Club on Sunday, February 22 with more than 500 vintage, classic, and modern vehicles on display.<\/p>\n<p>It is a grassroots event led by Martin and Michelle Bailey with support from the Lennox Head Machinery Club and local car clubs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Lots of people have a passion for restoring old cars, and we&#8217;ve got an event where the whole family can be involved,&#8221; Michelle Bailey said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We get the kids involved with judging and have all sorts of prizes and competitions. It&#8217;s a great way to introduce them to classic cars in a family-friendly environment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have plenty of support and cover all our costs thanks to some generous sponsors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This year Cherry Street Sports Club is hosting its mini show and shine on the Saturday as a preview for the event.<\/p>\n<p>It will see about 50 cars on display with judging and prizes worth $1,000.<\/p>\n<p>Ballina Fair Shopping Centre has also had classic cars on display in the lead-up and will provide free parking and a shuttle bus service pick-up and drop-off spot on the day.<\/p>\n<p>The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service will be the main beneficiary of the event with the show and shine, which has raised more than $35,000 over the past two years.<\/p>\n<p>There will be interactive displays, live music and a variety of markets and memorabilia stalls.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets and shuttle bus information can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/northcoastshowandshine.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">northcoastshowandshine.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE North Coast Show and Shine is expected to bring 10,000 people through the gates, with the car club event enjoying significant growth and success in recent years.
