{"id":114600,"date":"2026-04-14T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/?p=114600"},"modified":"2026-04-08T22:25:40","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T12:25:40","slug":"vote-for-ballina-to-win-gold-at-nsw-top-tourism-town-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/lismoretimes\/news\/vote-for-ballina-to-win-gold-at-nsw-top-tourism-town-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Vote for Ballina to win gold at NSW Top Tourism Town Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BALLINA will be out to claim top spot in the 2026 NSW Top Tourism Town Awards, with the public urged to vote as part of the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Voting is now open with the region coming off a silver and bronze medal on previous entries.<\/p>\n<p>Ballina has been recognised for its accessibility, year-round appeal and growing hospitality scene.<\/p>\n<p>The shire has also been acknowledged for innovation and growth in its business community.<\/p>\n<p>Ballina is in the category for towns with a population over 5000 and will need to topple Kiama which has won it for the last two years.<\/p>\n<p>Discover Ballina, which operates the visitor information centre, promotes the region\u2019s coastline, rainforests, waterfalls and local businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Ballina Shire Council team leader Alanah Ward said the awards reflected the efforts of the whole community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese awards recognise destinations that deliver outstanding visitor experiences and contribute strongly to their local economies,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re also a valuable opportunity to showcase the Ballina Coast and Hinterland on a broader stage and reinforce the strength of our collective tourism offering.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Others towns entered this year include Coffs Harbour, Forbes, Moree, Orange, Shellharbour and Wollongong.<\/p>\n<p>Visitor reviews also contribute to the overall result.<\/p>\n<p>Voting is open to the public until midnight on Sunday, 3 May.<\/p>\n<p>To vote, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/nswtourismassoc.kartra.com\/survey\/anmWRKOLCr9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>nswtourismassoc.kartra.com\/survey\/anmWRKOLCr9 <\/strong><\/a>or search Discover Ballina on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>The awards are hosted by the NSW Tourism Association and the NRMA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BALLINA will be out to claim top spot in the 2026 NSW Top Tourism Town Awards, with the public urged to vote as part of the competition.
