HEADSPACE Ballina and Social Futures are hosting a free outdoor movie night as part of Youth Week celebrations in the region.<\/p>\n
It will be held on Thursday, 23 April with organisers promoting it as a relaxed evening under the stars at the Headspace venue on Swift Street.<\/p>\n
The Jack Black comedy School of Rock will be played on the night.<\/p>\n
The event invites young people, families and the wider community to enjoy a film in a welcoming, youth-friendly environment.<\/p>\n
Headspace is a national youth foundation, providing early intervention mental health services for teenagers and young adults.<\/p>\n
\u201cAttendees are encouraged to bring along friends, pack a picnic blanket and settle in for a night focused on connection and wellbeing,\u201d an event spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe initiative aims to create a safe and inclusive space where young people can unwind, meet others and feel supported, reflecting headspace Ballina\u2019s ongoing commitment to youth mental health and community engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n
Snacks and games will be available with people needing transport to contact Headspace Ballina on Facebook.<\/p>\n
The event also aligns with this year\u2019s NSW Youth Week 2026, which carries the theme \u2018Dream. Dare. Do.\u2019<\/p>\n
The theme was proposed by a member of the 2026 NSW Youth Advisory Council, and encourages young people to embrace creativity, show courage and take meaningful steps towards their goals.<\/p>\n
Selected through a statewide vote involving children and young people, the theme underpins a week of activities designed to celebrate youth voices and foster a sense of empowerment across New South Wales.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
