Police are searching for the driver of a dark coloured utility after an alleged hit and run outside KFC Ballina left a woman with serious injuries.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were called after a 53 year old woman was allegedly struck by a vehicle in the car park of the shopping centre on Kerr Street.<\/p>\n
The incident is believed to have occurred near the front entrance of KFC about 6pm on Saturday 2 May.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe injured woman, aged 53, left the location and was later treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics in Wardell a short time later,\u201d a NSW Police spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police were notified of the alleged hit and run on Tuesday 5 May and inquiries are continuing.<\/p>\n
The woman reportedly suffered broken ribs, a fractured sternum, internal bleeding and abrasions.<\/p>\n
A family member thanked a member of the public who stopped to assist the woman and contacted emergency services following the incident.<\/p>\n
Investigators are seeking to identify the driver of a dark coloured utility believed to have been in the area at the time.<\/p>\n
