Active kids are happy kids
AT Raywood Primary School, we believe that active kids are happy kids.
Encouraging students to move their bodies, connect with others and build healthy habits is an important part of school life.
Our whole-school approach focuses on active classrooms, quality physical education and access to a range of sporting opportunities that help students develop both physically and socially.

We recognise the strong relationship between schools, families and the wider community, and the important role this plays in supporting children’s physical activity and overall wellbeing.
At Raywood Primary School, we are always looking for ways to improve our environment so students can stay active while building friendships with their peers.
One of our most exciting recent additions is a 200-metre scooter and bike track around the school grounds. With a fleet of school scooters available, students are able to enjoy the track most days during breaks and activity sessions.

A highlight each term is our popular “Bring Your Wheels Day”, when students bring along their own wheels from home to use on the track. It always leads to some creative choices, from bikes and scooters to rollerblades and even the occasional hoverboard.
Movement also plays an important role in supporting positive mental health and wellbeing. Throughout the year, students are given opportunities to experience a wide variety of sports and physical activities.
Over the past year, students have participated in swimming, gymnastics, golf, tennis, badminton and ten-pin bowling – experiences that are always eagerly anticipated and enjoyed.

Friendly competition is another valued part of our sporting culture. Raywood Primary School regularly joins neighbouring schools for swimming sports, athletics carnivals and seasonal sporting days, including summer, winter and junior tabloid events.
Students also attend school camps with friends from across our cluster of local schools, helping them strengthen friendships and build connections beyond their own classroom.
Our school is proud to be part of a supportive rural community, and we aim to create a welcoming environment for students and families both during and beyond the school day.

At the heart of our school are the values of respect, responsibility and resilience. These values guide how students learn, interact and support one another, helping them develop the wellbeing foundations they need to thrive at school and in the wider community.
This year, Raywood Primary School has also begun partnering with The Resilience Project. This evidence-based wellbeing program focuses on the principles of gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and emotional literacy.

Through weekly lessons and regular activities, students learn practical strategies to support their wellbeing, while families are also encouraged to engage with the program at home.
Set on spacious, well-maintained grounds in the rural community of Raywood, our school provides a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
Many students travel to school on our daily bus service from surrounding areas. Students learn in small multi-age classes supported by dedicated teachers and support staff, with strong involvement from families and the community.

Alongside classroom learning, students also participate in specialist programs including Auslan, Physical Education, Music, Art, Digital Technologies, Library and Sustainability.
Raywood Primary School is an inclusive, friendly and caring school that strives to provide quality education in a rural setting. We warmly welcome prospective families to visit and see our school community in action.
