Celebrating 10 years of Marist College Bendigo
AS MARIST College Bendigo celebrates its 10th anniversary as a vibrant educational community, we reflect on our journey of growth and faith, embracing a future centred on learning and service.
We remain committed to delivering a high quality Marist education, advocating for children’s rights, and fostering spiritual, academic, emotional, and social development.
Since its inception in 2015 with just 222 students and 24 educators, Marist College Bendigo has flourished with the unwavering support of the Advisory Council, parents, and dedicated educators. Students have also played a crucial role in shaping the school’s culture through their enthusiasm, respect, and commitment to the Marist spirit.
Deeply rooted in Marist heritage and the teachings of Jesus Christ, the phrase “Welcome to Marist” embodies the school’s warmth, inclusivity, and fosters a strong sense of belonging among students, staff, and parents.
Over the years, the College has introduced purpose built learning spaces, including the Montagne Centre for Years 5 to 8, Champagnat Centre for Years 9 to 12, and La Valla for Foundation to Year 4.

These state of the art facilities support dynamic, flexible learning environments that encourage students to learn anywhere, anytime. Additional specialised spaces, including Fourvière, dedicated to performing arts, and the most recent addition, the Marie-Thérèse Centre, dedicated to arts and technology, complement the immersive learning journey for our students.
All buildings are specifically named after key aspects of St Marcellin Champagnat’s home, journey, and family, reinforcing the school’s connection with the broader Marist community.
2022 saw the transition in leadership from founding Principal, Mr Darren McGregor, to inaugural educator, Ms Giselle Talbot.
Having been part of the College’s journey since its inception, Ms Talbot has held various leadership roles and continues to champion a holistic education model rooted in the Marist values of presence, simplicity, family spirit, love of work, and following Mary’s way.
As we move into the next 10 years of the Marist College Bendigo journey, we continue to be inspired by our founder, St Marcellin Champagnat, and his call to “build a new Hermitage.” We remain steadfast in our mission to inspire faith, learning, and service in the Marist way.
