Maiden Gully Primary School is a caring environment catering to the individual needs of each child. We strive to inspire a lifelong love of learning.

YOUR first impressions when entering an Early Years classroom at Maiden Gully Primary School are of children who are ready and eager to learn.

School is a wondrous place where children begin their learning journey and explore the world around them.

We work in partnership with families to provide a caring environment and programs that recognise the individual needs of each child.

We strive to inspire a lifelong love of learning.

Our broad and engaging curriculum supports the development of the whole child in a safe and supportive setting. We aim to build confidence, respect, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility and community.

Students express themselves through Performing Arts, Visual Art, Individual Learning Time, school productions, and learning AUSLAN, all of which highlight their joy of learning. Physical development is supported through swimming, athletics, and the Perceptual Motor Program, helping students build essential movement and coordination skills.

At Maiden Gully Primary School, we strive to inspire a lifelong love of learning. We promote resilience, creativity, problem-solving, and independence through high-quality teaching practices. Our approach to literacy is explicit, evidence-based, systematic and consistent across the school, ensuring students develop strong foundational skills in English.

Social and emotional wellbeing are nurtured through The Buddy Program, and more initiatives.

Our Literacy Block integrates reading, writing, and oral language development, with a focus on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, spelling, handwriting, sentence and text construction.

This is complemented by a strong commitment to students’ social and emotional wellbeing through programs such as The Resilience Program, Restorative Practices, and The Buddy Program.

A defining feature of our school is the strong sense of community, which becomes especially evident in our senior students.

By Year 6, students demonstrate leadership through their actions—listening, collaborating, and acting with integrity. Leadership is not simply a role but a lived experience embedded in everyday school life.

Students demonstrate leadership through their actions.

Student voice and agency are central to our culture. From the early years, students are encouraged to share ideas, make choices, and take ownership of their learning. Our student leaders play a vital role in shaping the school community by organising events, supporting peers, and representing student perspectives with empathy and purpose.

Senior students contribute significantly as role models, Buddies, and Peer Mediators. The Buddy Program, which pairs each Foundation student with a Year 6 student, fosters meaningful connections across year levels. Senior students guide and support younger peers, while younger students bring energy and curiosity, creating mutually beneficial relationships that strengthen our sense of belonging.

The school aims to build confidence, respect, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility and community.

These everyday interactions demonstrate that leadership is not limited to formal titles but is shown through kindness, inclusion, and care. As our school continues to grow, these values remain at the heart of everything we do.

At Maiden Gully Primary School, every student is supported to find their voice and develop the confidence, character, and skills to make a positive impact—both within the school and beyond the school gates.

Prep enrolments and expressions of interest are being taken for the 2027 school year. Any further information regarding the school and our programs can be found at the school website www.maidengullyps.com.au or by phoning (03) 5449 6429.
