A NEW shop offering second-hand, high-end women’s products is about to open at the old Beehive Building in Pall Mall just in time for the Spring Racing Carnival.

Garments from labels including Bec and Bridge, Elle Zeitoune, Shona Joy, Trenery, Victoria and Woods and Leona Edmiston are expected to be featured on the racks.

People with any clothes currently clogging up their own wardrobe are also invited to sell those on consignment at the outlet.

Proprietor and milliner Angie Jackman said the concept ties in with her own idea of sustainability in fashion, given it’s one of the world’s worst polluters. “I also think people are becoming more aware of the working conditions in which fast fashion is made, which is probably making them steer towards preloved garments,” she said.

As well as clothing, other items will include accessories, millinery and handbags, and eventually items hand made by local designers.

“We won’t be stocking anything fast fashion or mass-produced, basically because they’re of poor quality and have no resale value,” Ms Jackson said.

“The stock will be high quality at a lower price than what you can source online or through private sale.

“People can also save time by not having to go to opportunity shops and sift through a lot of low-end product.”

The Learn 2 Love Again Preloved fashion opening day takes place at the Beehive Building in Pall Mall on Saturday 19 October from 11am.
