INXS fans will have a rare chance to relive the musical brilliance of Michael Hutchence and co. in person when the “fully immersive” Australian INXS Tribute Show hits town on Thursday 31 October.

The six-piece lineup has consistently surprised audiences pre- and post-COVID with their ultra-authentic portrayal of the group in countries including Dubai, India, Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Vanuatu, Singapore, Japan, China, Bora Bora, New Caledonia, Taipei and South Korea.

Charismatic frontman Dellacoma Rio, who is also an actor and solo artist, turned down invitations to join multiple INXS tribute acts through the years, before coming on board with the current band in 2018 “just as the fill in”.

“Then it kind of exploded,” he said.

“I’d never done a tribute before, but instead of (consciously) trying to act like Michael, because people had always said I looked and moved like him, I learnt the music and went from there.”

He said the Bendigo audience can expect a full-blown “stadium experience” recreating what the band believes would’ve been “INXS at their peak in 2024”.

“We try to make everything true to the recordings, but at the same time in the context of a rock and roll concert.”

“We really push ourselves to make sure the musicianship is top notch and the energy is high.”

The Australian INXS Show is set to blow the roof off the Capital Theatre on Thursday 31 October from 7.30pm.
