A FUNDRAISER concocted to drive donations to provide crisis relief and mental health programs and services for musicians, managers, crew and music workers is happening next Thursday 27 November.
Following its debut in 2013, AusMusic T-Shirt Day (AMTD) has become a nationwide cultural juggernaut; a day where music lovers across Australia wear their favourite band tee, snap a photo, and flood their socials with support for the artists and crews who make live music possible.
Every shirt worn and every dollar donated fuels not-for-profit crisis relief, mental health support and wellbeing service provider Support Act’s vital programs.
In the lead up to the event, its CEO Clive Miller said this year it feels like AMTD has “exploded forward.”
“Building on the incredible support from all parts of the music industry over many years, it has become a cultural moment, and we’re calling on the Australian public to join the momentum, to celebrate and to help fundraise for all the legends who show up for AusMusic every single day, but who need our support when times are tough,” he said.
Supporters can get behind the campaign by visiting the AMTD website to purchase a variety of limited-edition tees or make a donation.
This year’s available t-shirts are from bands and solo artists including The Kid Laroi, Missy Higgins, Hilltop Hoods, Electric Fields, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizzard, The Buoys, Floodlights, Troy Cassar-Daly, Bernard Fanning and the Hoodoo Gurus.
Fans can also show their support online with the #AusMusicTShirtDay and #ShowUpForAusMusic hashtags.
