The Budburst Celebration will feature the launch of three new Spanish-style wines.

AS part of Bendigo’s Bloom Festival, Sanguine Estate Wines is celebrating spring with a month of tastings and local collaborations at its newly opened cellar door in Heathcote.

The Budburst Celebration: Exclusive Pour Wine Tasting, held on 20 to 21 September, will feature the launch of three new Spanish-style wines: the 2025 Verdejo (a white wine unique to Sanguine in Heathcote), a fresh Tempranillo blend, and the estate’s first-ever Reserve Tempranillo.

These wines will be poured alongside other rare and new releases, including the 2025 D’Orsa Blanc sweet wine—crafted from mystery vines brought to Australia by Pietro D’Orsa, great-grandfather of Sanguine founder Tony Hunter—and a vibrant new Sparkling Rosé. Guests will also have the chance to enjoy the $200-a-bottle 2019 Black Bear Shiraz Cabernet, making its debut tasting appearance at the cellar door.

Little Sangria will be joining Sanguine Estate on the Sunday, serving delicious paella.

In a fitting culinary pairing, Little Sangria, a Bendigo-based Spanish food business, will be joining Sanguine Estate on the Sunday (21 September), serving delicious paella to complement the Spanish wine lineup.

“Welcoming Little Sangria for the first time feels like a natural extension of our new Spanish releases,” said CEO Jodi Marsh.

“It’s about celebrating spring, celebrating our region, and sharing something truly special with our guests.”

On the Saturday (20 September), crowd favourite and singing Pizza Chef Antimo returns with his Neapolitan gourmet pizzas adding a lively touch to the weekend.

Wine Club members receive free wine tastings as well as guests who pre-purchase food.

The festivities continue on Saturday 27 September with a Wine & Design Terrarium Workshop at 10am, presented by Botanical Lane.

A Wine & Design Terrarium Workshop will be presented by Botanical Lane.

Set amongst the barrels at Sanguine Estate, this hands-on experience invites guests to create their own open terrarium inside a luxurious whisky-style glass vessel, guided by Botanical Lane’s creative director, Elizabeth.

The workshop blends nature, design, and indulgence, offering a moment of mindfulness and creativity paired with estate wine and gourmet nibbles. All materials are provided, and guests will leave with a beautiful, living piece of art to take home.

Bookings essential. Visit sanguinewines.com.au for Budburst tickets and food pre-orders. Visit botanicallane.com.au to purchase terrarium workshop tickets.
