Footy fever will hit new heights this September as the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade returns to Melbourne with a pumped-up route and fresh additions for fans.

The AFL has confirmed the iconic Parade will take place on Friday 26 September, offering a full morning of action that kicks off at 9am at Birrarung Marr. DJs, emcees and entertainment will get the crowd buzzing before the players roll through on their traditional Toyota HiLux motorcade.

In a bid to enhance the fan experience, the parade route will once again bypass public roads, instead winding through Melbourne Park Precinct, across the William Barak Bridge, and into the Yarra Park Precinct at the MCG – finishing at the AFL’s free Macca’s Footy Fest.

Melbourne Park Oval remains the prime family-friendly zone to soak up the spectacle, with live music, food trucks, AFL legends and a big screen all on offer.

AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Bec Haagsma said the expanded Parade reflects the excitement of the season.

“We’re enhancing the experience at Birrarung Marr and introducing new segments to honour the broader AFL community, including AFLW and Toyota AFL Open athletes,” she said.

Fans will also get a glimpse of the 2025 Premiership Cup when it’s presented on the Macca’s Footy Fest main stage at midday.

Toyota Australia Chief Marketing Officer Vin Naidoo said the Parade was about uniting fans with the traditions of the game.

“We’re proud to bring fans closer to the players, the Cup and the community that makes footy special,” he said.

The 2025 Macca’s Footy Fest runs from Wednesday 25 to Saturday 28 September, with live entertainment, giveaways and family fun.
