HEATHCOTE Community House (HCH) will host a Multicultural Fiesta from 12.30pm to 5pm tomorrow.

The fiesta will be an opportunity for attendees to learn about other cultures and attend Grow Workshops with Deb Edgell and Angie Salisbury.

“We are looking forward to an afternoon of connecting over food and performance,” Community House executive officer Vicki Forde said.

“Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in heritage or traditional costumes to win some great local prizes courtesy of Red Dragon Chinese Restaurant and Azie Hibiscus Beauty and Body Wellness.”

There will be fun growing activities for all ages.

“Our Grow Workshop with Deb Edgell starts at 2pm and costs just $5,” Ms Forde said.

“Deb, together with husband Ralph, graze in their garden gathering ingredients for meals as well as supplying beautiful fresh, seasonal produce to our community.

“In the workshop participants will learn how growing their own food, simply and inexpensively, even in just a little container, pot or patch can be so rewarding.

“The Bendigo Filipino Association will tell the story behind their dancing, and participants can watch them dance and join in.

“There will also be a performance from the Bendigo Eurofest Choir, live local musicians and karaoke from 3pm.

“Food vans will be in attendance, and we are encouraging people to bring along food and garden produce, seedlings and seeds for our swap table.

“HCH is looking forward to the celebration of culture, whilst promoting healthy eating and physical activity in our town.”
