SPECULATIVE fiction writer Alyce Elmore together with The Barn Pet Stock and Feed will host a day of literature, poetry and art on Sunday.
The event will feature local artists with readings, music, coffee, food, snow cones, wine tastings books for sale and book signings.
“What started as a book launch for my third book, For Where There Are Harps, has become a festival of the arts with entertainment, food and drinks and, of course, lots of artists,” Elmore said.
“Anyone looking for a fun day out can come and join in the fun.”
Elmore writes mostly speculative fiction.
“I became an avid reader long before becoming a writer,” she said.
“My love affair with the written word started young and has only grown stronger over the years.
“The stories I’ve read have taken me to places familiar and exotic.
“They have introduced me to lifelong friends and frightened me with their villains.
“They have made me appreciate the best of times and supported me through the worst.”
Keen supporters of the local writer, Sharon and William Greenfield, will host the event at their pet and stock supplies business at 62–76 Kilmore Road, Heathcote.
“We both love Alyce’s writing and want to support local writers,” Ms Greenfield said.
“The store will be closed to usual trade and dedicated to a fantastic day for local artists.”
‘Gobbledegook and Gibberish’ is a free event and will start at 11am. Elmore will launch her book at 2.45pm.
