A dog’s day out

BIG dogs, small dogs, tall dogs and short dogs came with their owners to The Barn Pet Stock and Feed to celebrate much-loved resident dog Chrissie’s birthday last weekend.

Chrissie turned eight years old.

“It was a great day,” said Chrissie’s owner and The Barn co-owner Sharon Greenfield.

“The weather was perfect, and everyone said they had a great time.

“Children played games and entered the colouring competition, and we gave out prizes and gift bags.

“We sang Happy Birthday to Chrissie and cut two cakes, one for the dogs and one for the humans, both beautifully made by Bernadette Welsford.

“I am very grateful to everyone who came along and helped to make it such a wonderful day.”

As well as party celebrations, there were representatives from rural fencing and dog food companies in attendance to give advice and samples.

The Barn Pet Stock and Feed has been running a raffle with prizes donated by their suppliers in aid of the SES fundraising for a new 4WD medium rescue truck.

The raffle was drawn during the afternoon and raised more than $300.
